Mamas Girl.

I have found it incredibly hard to find the time to update this thing, sadly... or even get close to the computer before the baby starts fussing or daddy wants dinner. However, i have been keeping lots of mental notes to share with everyone. Bottom line: this little girl is growing WAY too fast for words. I just cant believe it. She has grown 3 1/2 inches in barely 3 months and has doubled her birth weight. can we say chunk? regardless, she is just too, too cute not to kiss.

dont you just want to squeeeeeze those cheeks??

a few big milestones going on these days. One, we have a chuckle. Not a full belly laugh, but definitely a cough laugh/squeel sound that can be recognized as her laugh. its pretty cute. Also, she is doing so well with tummy time. She loves to be on her belly and look around. When she first picks up her head she gets a big grin and looks at me like "MOMMY LOOK AT ME!" so. cute.

then she gets tired and just sort of lays there until i pick her up:

heres a little tummy time video. poor thing is grunting so hard while she tries to look up!

also, she is starting to sit up, almost pulling herself into a sitting position by herself. She can hold onto my fingers and sit up! its crazy. now that she has realized she can do it, thats all she wants to do. i looked in the mirror in the car the other day and she is trying to sit up in her car seat. im sure she will be happy when she is out of the bucket and doesnt have to lay back anymore. She can also roll over to her belly from her back, with assistance. She holds my finger and pulls herself over easily. God help me when she starts to crawl, i think it will be sooner than later. she is starting to figure out how to grab/put things in her mouth. Which means ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING goes to the mouth if she can get it. Here she is doing it for the first time ever... She can only hold objects for about 2 minutes before she lets go.

Anyway, she is doing GREAT, and doing a million new things every day...

OH YA... LIKE THIS....

MY LITTLE THUMB SUCKER.

i am doing everything in my power to prevent this, but i think at this point it is out of my control. she is starting to refuse her suckee, or when she does have it she spits it out and tries her hardest to get that thumb. Thank goodness she cant unclasp her fist easily or she would have it in her mouth all the time. Half the time she ends up with a whole fist in her mouth because she cant get just the thumb. Its cute right now, because she is so tiny, but i know it wont be cute when she is five... so im trying to make her stop while i can!

At 11 weeks old, Autumn:

  • can hold up her head almost perfectly
  • is starting to sit up
  • is starting to try to roll over
  • can giggle a bit
  • recognizes grannyma enough to smile
  • is starting to look at the doggies
  • LOVES monkeys
  • recognizes her favorite toys and smiles at them
  • "baby talks" goos- ga's- and more
  • is almost 14 lbs
  • is 23 1/2 inches long
  • is almost outgrowing size 2 diapers!!
  • is wearing 6 month clothes!! chunky girl!
  • loves to watch tv
  • sleeps 8 hour stretches
  • can grab objects and hold onto them for 2 minutes
  • has found her fingers, sucks her hands and thumb
  • is starting to enjoy car rides... thank goodness
  • is sleeping in her PNP!! hooray!
Autumn got her 2 month shots and handled it like a champ. I think i was more upset than she was. I made the nurse hold her down because i felt bad. Honestly though, she really did good. She got three in her thighs. The first one she didnt even notice, the second one she was a little fussy, and was bawling after the third. As soon as i picked her up she stopped crying. I nursed her right away to help with the pain. She cried a little in between sucking realizing OH MAN THAT HURT. but she quickly forgot about it. I gave her a little tylenol and she passed out on the way home. She definitely clung tight to mommy for the rest of the day.

my bandaids!

poor baby.

but she was fairly happy that night.

my sweet girl...

speaking of clinging to mommy... this kid is DEFINITELY a mamas girl. She loves her granny-ma too... and tolerates other people for about 5 minutes... but give her to daddy, and shes like OH CRAP WHERES MOMMY. she is seriously not a fan of him. at all.

"mommmyyyy ohmygoddd why is he holding meeee"

its actually a little comical, she gets this HUGE pout on her face and then starts to cry. mommy takes her and shes fine.

heres the start of the pout. look at that LIP.

then we have the full on cry:
poor baby. poor daddy.

sigh. she loves her some mommy though. we love eachother. of course, im also with her 24 hours a day and forgot what it is like to have time to myself. but its totally worth it.

we adore eachother see?

we even have full on conversations with each other. what else am i supposed to do? shes my only source of socialization these days. and these little goo goo moments make me smile so much.

i live for these little moments.

she enjoys her granny-ma time too though. Grannyma is a face she recognizes and usually gives her a smile or two. and granny-ma buys her lots of cool presents... i think she has already started to make that relation.

Not only is she a mamas girl- but she is starting to look more like mommy too. She has so much lamb in her its ridiculous. sometimes i look at her and think she is the spitting image of my sisters. this picture in particular, looks JUST like Ryann as a baby. Im going to have to get a copy of one of her baby pictures and put them side by side.

can you believe that!!

she is such a cutie pie. a couple more pictures before i depart. I have so much more to write, but i have a few precious moments of quiet time while she actually takes a nap for the first time IN DAYS!!
